Lily Richardson - February 1, 1926 - December 3, 2015
BC Athletics is very saddened to hear of the passing of Lily Richardson on December 3rd, 2015 at the age of 89 while living in Apache Junction, Arizona. Lily was predeceased by Ken Richardson who together owned and operated Crammond and Alouette Travel and for many years was the BC Athletics travel agency.
Lily loved to entertain at their home/farm/ranch in Maple Ridge - making everyone fell welcomed especially following the gruelling Cross Country Run through the trails, streams and hills that lead to Golden Ears Park. Her kindness, friendship, great sense of humour and fabulous meals meant the annual race was very well attended.
Lily will be missed by her many, many friends and especially by her children Thea Richardson-Prosch and Brian Wakely.
Regarding a remembrance ceremony for Lily, she was looking forward to her "Surprise" 90th birthday party on February 1st, 2016, so to that end there will be a Celebration of Lily's Life in Apache Junction, Arizona (details to be announced) and as she loved a "Ceilidh" (Scottish Party) and desired one when she passed - her wish will happen on Feb 1st, 2016.
For those of you from afar who would not be able to attend, please feel free to email (sarroya33@yahoo.com) whatever thoughts you might like to have read on your behalf.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to either the Arizona Humane Society or the Apache Junction Food Bank would be appreciated as these two charities she regularly supported.
