BC Athletics Mourns the Loss of Three From Athletics Community
Marion Crowley It is with great sadness that BC Athletics announces the passing of Marion Crowley – Club Builder (Vancouver Olympic Club), Event Volunteer, Official, and passionate supporter of Athletics in British Columbia. Her volunteer efforts, generosity and friendship were unending. Strong and loyal to Athletics and Football – through rain, snow and sunshine – qualities displayed in all of her activities. Always interested in how others were doing and how she could contribute. A member of the BC Athletics Hall of Fame (1987), Marion will be missed by many. A Celebration of Life for Marion will take place on Sunday September 30. You may let the family know you are attending at the following link.

Derek Edward Hodge It is with great sadness that BC Athletics announces the passing of Derek Hodge. Derek was a member of the Pacific Road Runners and served many years as a board member of the Vancouver International Marathon Society. Derek was the sole proprietor of “Hodge-Podge”. His antique business, like its name, honoured beauty and function from every era. A Celebration of Life for Derek, will take place Saturday, October 6 at 11:00am, at the Oak Room, Aberthau Mansion 4397 W 2nd Ave, Vancouver BC V6R 1K4. |

Stephen Michael O’Neill February 19, 1957 - August 31, 2018 It is with great sadness that BC Athletics announces the passing of Stephen O’Neill. Steve’s legacy can be found in the many organizations to which he gave freely of his time, talent and mentorship. He was a co-founder and board member of the Vancouver Spirit Run and also a long-time board member and president of the NorWesters Track and Field Club. Steve worked tirelessly in setting the standard for meet registration and timing systems, and was always there for everyone else first.
