BC Athletics remembers and celebrates the life of Official/Starter, once of the Coquitlam Cheetahs TFC, Kartar Singh Bains.

The BC Athletics Membership, Board and Staff thanks Kartar and his family for the commitment and dedication to the development and enjoyment of Athletics/Track & Field.

Kartar Singh Bains
November 14, 1945 - December 8, 2021

We are sad to announce the passing of Kartar Singh Bains born November 14 1945. Passed away peacefully surrounded by all the people that he loved on December 8 2021. Husband to Surinder Kaur Bains and proud father to sons Ravinder Singh Bains, Manjinder Singh Bains, and daughter Tajinderpal Kaur Cornelius.

Kartar worked for the City of Coquitlam for 31 years as head of Survey and as union vice president. Kartar was involved in The Coquitlam Cheetahs and was an official at the Commonwealth Games. He was also a journalist for the Punjabi news as well as starting the first Punjabi school in Vancouver. He was a part of Affirmative action and anti-racism in job place groups.
