2019 BC Athletics Annual General Meeting

Call for Resolutions:

Forward any and all resolutions that you, your committee, or your club wish to have brought forth at the 2019 BC Athletics Annual General Meeting by the deadline of Friday, August 16, 2019 at 5:00pm

Resolutions received after the August 16, 2019 deadline can only be brought forth on the floor at the AGM as recommendations to the Board of Directors unless ruled by the membership at the AGM to be of an urgent matter.

All resolutions submitted by August 16, 2019 will be reviewed by the BC Athletics Board of Directors and resolutions to be brought forward at the 2019 BC Athletics AGM will be posted on the BC Athletics website prior to the AGM.

Elections:

The following board positions will be up for election at the AGM.  For full details and nomination forms please refer to the “Governance” page on the website:

  • Director Administration & Planning
  • Director Marketing & Communications
  • Director Events & Promotions
  • Director Zone 3,4,5 (1 position of 2)
  • Director Zones 1,2
  • Director Zone 6

Delegate Registrations:

Delegates attending in person or remotely, must be registered by Wednesday, September 4, 2019.  Read through all the information before registering delegates as the rules changed in 2017.  Full details and links to registration forms are available on the BC Athletics website

Votes will be based on the number of members a club has as of August 31, 2019.  Under the new BC Societies Act a voting delegate can only be registered with 1 vote.  So a club that is eligible to cast 5 votes must initially register 5 delegates.  Once the club has registered their required number of delegates registered, delegates who will not be attending the AGM can proxy their votes to another voting delegate in the club who will be attending.  All proxy forms must be received by BC Athletics no later than September 4, 2019 – 5:00pm.
