Ocean Athletics took home the Junior Development (JD) Team Award, awarded to the club with the top placing athletes over all of the JD events (9-13 year olds).
In the Senior Women’s race, Sarah Inglis of the Langley Mustangs, lead from gun to finish. Inglis told Athletics Illustrated, “I just wanted to have a good effort and go hard when it felt good. After two laps I was thinking that this is getting tough, but I managed to keep the lead, then extend it in the last lap. I finished feeling good, so I am happy with that.” Her teammates, Lindsay Carson and Ally Ginther, placed second and third to sweep the podium and take the Senior Women’s Team plaque.
The Men’s Senior race, Nathan Wadhwani of the Langley Mustangs took the win, by heading to the front of the pack early and held on for the win. Braeden Charlton of the Thunderbirds second, and Caleb de Jong of the Mustangs third.
